A Little About Me

If you were sent here from Timeless Memories Photography, you are on the right page.  I've combined both of my websites here under JL Dearman Photography.

Hi, how ya doin’? My name is Jack and you have found the right photographer to capture your special occasion. I promise you will be more than satisfied and have a great time to boot! My goal is to give you images that will invoke a feeling within you. I always remember how something or someone made me feel long after I’ve forgotten all the details. The creative side of me let’s me see an image in my minds eye before I take it and the Virgo part of me assures you that I have taken every step possible to provide you with a high quality product.

I’m located in historical Salisbury, NC and just love the rich southern history this area offers. The choices are endless for location portrait sessions. My passion is senior pictures, wedding photography and family portraits. I’ve been involved in some type of racing before I could legally drive, so you’ll see a lot of pictures of races on here too. By choosing JLDearman Photography, you will be guaranteed a session you will remember.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I get a CD with the images from my session?

Yes, you may purchase a CD of your images.  Prices vary according to the number and size of finished images.

Do I get the Hi-Resolution files on the CD?

If you know which files you want to print and the sizes beforehand, I will gladly prepare each individual file for your intended use.  The CD will be priced accordingly.  Your hi-rez files will be approximately 9 x 14 at 300 DPI.  It is up to you to crop and size them according to your needs.

When I view my images on my computer, why are they too dark/light or the colors look wrong?

You have probably set your brightness, color and contrast controls for your monitor to settings that you prefer.  Since no two individuals will set their controls the same, you will see an average rendering of the image.  I calibrate my monitor before each editing session to a known standard.  I have color profiles from my lab to make sure that what I process is what actually prints from my lab.

How long does it take to receive my print order?

Once you have placed your order, you receive your prints within 7 business days.

Do I get the copyright from images on the CD?

I give you unlimited reprint rights for private, non-commercial use in written form.

If I live in another area, will there be an additional charge for mileage?

I try to give the customer the best value for their money.  If I feel the distance warrants a charge, we will discuss it before the session and agree on a reasonable travel fee.

Do you schedule appointments at times other than “normal” business hours?

Yes.  I realize that it is not possible for most people to miss work, so I schedule appointments accordingly.

Do you have a contract that I have to sign for my session?

Yes.  For weddings and more complicated events, I have a complete contract spelling out all the details.  For smaller more standard events, all of the details and releases are right on the billing invoice which we both sign.

Do you have web gallery proofing?

Yes.   I find most clients prefer to share their pictures with family and friends on a web gallery.  After your images are uploaded, I send you an email with a password protected private link that you may share with anyone you like.  For your out of town family or friends  I offer a shopping cart where any image may be purchased online with a credit card through Pay Pal.  Once you have placed your order I send it to my lab and it is then shipped via Fed Ex.  You may choose to have your order shipped directly to you from the shipping options.

I will be adding to the list as time goes on and different questions arise, so check back often.
Thanks!
