Seniors

Ashley

This past weekend Ashley was anxious to have her senior pictures taken and mother nature finally decided to cooperate.    She wanted a scenic location and Hurley Park immediately came to mind.  Ashley agreed and wanted to know if she could bring a friend along to get a couple of picture of them together.  I told her no problem, after all she will remember all the fun they had in school for years to come every time she reminisces over her pictures.    Here’s some of the shots from Sunday.  I’m thinkin’ that Ashley has been in front of a camera before, because she took right off and didn’t need but very little coaching with her poses.

Kayla

Kayla’s session began in the studio.  We spent several hours taking all of the different poses she wanted along with several wardrobe changes.  She told me she had taken a photography class in school – I know she did well because she knew exactly what to do in front of the camera.  She had a good understanding of how light plays such an important roll in Photography.  Then we drove down to High Rock Lake for the remainder of her session.  I noticed the first thing she did was note where the sun was and took off from there.  She had a blast running around just being herself.   She kept me quite busy!

Normally I just pick a couple of shots to post on the web, but I really had a hard time narrowing down the field to what you see below.

These are some of the studio shots.

When we arrived at High Rock Lake, it was late afternoon,  (the best light) cold and the wind was blowing.  This was taken on a narrow dock.  If I had backed up one more step I would have been swimming!  The lake was choppy and the dock was just a bouncin’!  Kayla said “With the sun over there, should I stand like this?”  I didn’t even answer and just started pressing the shutter button.

This is one of my favorite shots.   I liked the expression on her face as she watched the leaves fall.

Finally we finished up at the garden.  My fingers were so numb, the only way I could tell If I pressed the shutter button was by the sound!
