Evan – Newborn

Little Evan was just 4 days old last Saturday.  Now that would put me at 20,833 days old.  He has a long way to go to catch up!  It has been a long time since I have photographed a newborn, but I was able to catch him doing one of the 3 things newborns do best!

Sophie

I had a busy day this last Saturday.  Sophie is just about 8 months old now.  Being a father of 3 daughters myself, it is very easy to forget just how quickly a child grows and develops.  Way to fast when you are looking back at your own.  Now I get worn out just watching children – they have way too much energy for me.  I just love the facial expressions they come up with.

I think she just spotted something – now what can I get into next!

George and Sara's 25th Wedding Anniversary

George and Sara celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary August 1, 2009.  This was the first vow renual that I have attended and I was really impressed.  George and Sara knew exactly what to do.  (As if they haven’t had a practice run at it before!)  Everything went smoothly and from what I could see everyone had a fantastic time.

I moved to frame the couple between the candles.  I liked the way the candles lead you right to their faces.

I caught this little girl hanging around the cake a little too long.  I noticed that the window light was just perfect, so I tried to hide behind a plant to wait and see if I could catch her sampling the icing.  Suddenly she must have sensed I was there and turned to see who was watching her.  I caught the expression of her ”see, I’m not doing anything wrong” glance at the right moment.

I watched the couple as they were dancing and changed my position to frame them behind the cake.

George also plays trumpet with the Salisbury Swing Band.  A very talented group of musicians!

Thank you George and Sara for a wonderful time.  It wasn’t like I was working at all – just there enjoying myself with all the other wonderful guests.

Ben & Lauren

Lauren & Ben have set a September 2010 wedding date.  Both attended Pfeiffer University and will be married in the chapel there.  Lauren teaches school and Ben is empolyed at the VA Hospital here in Salisbury.  I had a great time working with both of them for their engagement session.  I never once had to remind them to smile.  All they had to do was look at each other, then the smiles came naturally.  I can tell they will make a wonderfull couple.

Here are a couple of my favorites from the session.  After a short hike to the “back 40,” we arrived a the scenic lake for a few shots.

Dennis & Cimone

This session was taken at the UNC Botanical Gardens in Charlotte.  Dennis & Cimone couldn’t have chosen a more beautiful place to remember their engagement.  Dennis recently graduated from UNC with a degree in computer science, so I’m sure he felt at home there too!   They are getting married this coming November 7th.

I think I liked the serenity of the pond in the background as much as they liked it.  Congratulations to both of you and from what I can see, you are already a wonderful couple.
